Charparo Tree Farm
Charparo Tree Farm is a tree nursery and sod farm that produces both deciduous and coniferous trees. The only customer is Spruce Meadows, working closely to meet the desired needs of their landscape requirements. Spruce Meadows is a leading world renowned equestrian show jumping venue situated on approximately 500 acres of land in South Calgary, Alberta. It is a park-like setting and architecturally controlled environment which attracts over 500,000 people per year. Spruce Meadows is privately owned and has been in operation for over 40 years. Their demand for trees will remain high for many years to come.
In 2017, the Charparo Tree Farm took over operations of an additional property (connected to the original land by a private road/walkway accessed only by staff) that included a stable, indoor and outdoor riding arenas and pastures. This stable now acts as a breeding and boarding facility for show jumping horses. Staff here are responsible for the care of the horses including, but not limited to: turn out, feeding, stalling cleaning, grooming and basic handling. The team also keeps up with standard farm chores including basic repairs, grounds maintenance (related to the horses) and overall tidiness of the property. Those employed as Nursery Workers do not have contact or work with the horses.
